The process
If you have a one-off project, or need access to a professional
marketer for a specific period of time, we can provide you with
an interim resource.
Your consultant will work in your office, as part of your team, for
as long as you need them. It may only be a couple of days a week,
or full time for a few weeks, whatever your needs we will find the
right resource for you. Also it doesn’t matter if the project
is strategic or tactical, we will get involved in everything from
strategic planning to stuffing envelopes if that is what’s
required.

Objectives
- To manage the strategic marketing for RCN Publishing
- To manage a team of 5 marketing professionals and ensure that
annual targets were achieved for the product portfolio
- To increase the profile of the RCN Publishing events within
its target markets
- To develop the professionalism of the marketing team
Interim provision
- Working within a job-share to ensure that the marketing team
delivered on both strategic and operational levels
- Working with editorial teams, and departments within the associated
membership organisation, to ensure that objectives were met whilst
maintaining the values of the RCN brands
- Working with external suppliers to ensure that RCN Publishing
received the best value service whilst staying within its budgets
- Strategic planning of marketing activity and representing the
team at board level
- Finding and working with other industrial partners and sponsors
to encourage strategic development
Results
- The team was successful in reaching, and in some areas exceeding,
their targets for the year, which in turn contributed directly
to the profitability of the client
- The marketing team developed as a unit, and also as individuals,
and the case was successfully put forward for the expansion of
the team
- The client was able to give the marketing manager, whose work
was being covered, the freedom to extend her maternity leave
and return gradually
